Instalation Guide for LinkedSparx Syro-Bricks
Installing LinkedSparx Syro-Bricks involves assembling the modules into a desired layout and connecting them to power and the control app. The display can be either a desktop setup using stands or a wall display using mounting tapes.
Planning and Assembly
Design the Layout: First, decide on your desired 2D or 3D shape and lay it out on a flat surface. This helps ensure all connections work before final placement.
Connect Modules: Attach the modules to each other using the included Type-C connectors. Ensure the input port of a new module connects to the output of the previous one for power and signal transmission.
Reinforce with Fixtures: Once you are satisfied with the layout and all modules light up correctly, place the plastic fixtures on all connectors to fasten them and prevent bending or damage to the structure.
Power Connection
Connect the Controller: Use a Type-C cable to connect the controller to the designated starting module.
Power On: Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet and connect it to the controller. A 5V 2A power supply is recommended.
Check Connections: Power on the device. All connected modules should light up. If some do not, check the input/output connections between the affected modules.
Display Options
Desktop Display
Ensure the input port of the starting module faces downwards.
Plug it into one of the provided stands.
Move the bottom of your layout to the edge of a desk/shelf and attach the second stand as a support to keep the creation upright.
Wall Display
Ensure the wall surface is clean, flat, and smooth (not recommended for wallpaper or moist/dusty walls).
Power on the starting module with the controller connected.
Peel the backing off a mounting tape and position the first module on the wall, applying strong pressure for at least 10 seconds.
Attach a connector to the next module, peel its tape, plug it into the previous module, and press it onto the wall, ensuring alignment.
Apply tapes on supporting points (at least every 3 modules) rather than every single one, in case you wish to change the layout later.
App Setup
Download App: Scan the QR code in the manual or search for the "LEDSMART" app in your device's app store (requires iOS 10.0+ or Android 4.4+).
Enable Bluetooth: Go to your mobile device's settings and turn on Bluetooth.
Connect: Open the app; it should automatically search for and list available SYRO devices nearby. Select your device to connect and begin controlling the lights.
5 creative ideas Using the LinkedSparx Syro-Bricks
The LinkedSparx Syro-Bricks app (LEDSMART) provides various features for creative lighting displays. Here are 5 creative ideas you can program, along with instructions on how to set them up in the app.
1. Dynamic Gaming or Streaming Backdrop (Music Sync)
Create an immersive experience where your lights react to the sound from your game or music. The built-in sound sensor allows the lights to "dance" to the beat.
Instructions:
Open the LEDSMART app and connect to your Syro-Bricks device.
Navigate to the Music Mode or Music tab within the app.
Choose from the different available music modes (e.g., "Rhythm", "Pulse", "Spectrum").
Play your music or game audio nearby; the lights will automatically pick up the sound via the controller's built-in microphone and sync the effects.
Adjust the sensitivity in the app settings if needed to better match the audio input.
2. Personalized 2D Pixel Art Animation (Custom Scenes)
Design a specific image or shape with your brick layout (e.g., a heart, a game character, a simple word) and program a custom color scene for it.
Instructions:
Arrange your physical Syro-Bricks into your desired pixel art shape.
In the app, go to the Custom Scene or DIY section.
You should see a representation of your layout or a grid where you can map colors to individual bricks.
Select a color from the 16 million color palette.
Tap the specific bricks in the app's interface to color them in your design.
Save your scene with a custom name (e.g., "Pixel Heart", "Pac-Man").
You can also explore options to make the colors static or transition between custom colored sections.
3. Gradient Mood Lighting (Color Mode)
Instead of harsh, static colors, create a soft, blended ambient light that gradually transitions between complementary hues.
Instructions:
Go to the Color Mode tab in the app.
Select a "Gradient" or "Flow" effect option if available, which automatically blends colors across the layout.
Alternatively, use the Custom Scene mode (see Idea 2) to manually assign a few different, but related, colors to adjacent panels (e.g., a light blue on one end, transitioning to a deep blue, then purple).
Adjust the brightness and speed settings to create a subtle, calming effect suitable for mood lighting.
4. Interactive Message Board (Scrolling Text/Symbols)
Arrange the bricks to form an outline of a display and program it to show scrolling text or simple, changing symbols.
Instructions:
Assemble your bricks in a layout that can accommodate text (a long, rectangular arrangement often works best).
Navigate to a feature in the app, possibly under the Custom Scenes or a dedicated Text mode, that allows inputting text. (The availability of a specific text-scrolling feature depends on the app version; if not available, you can simulate it using the custom scene editor and repeatedly changing the design).
Type in your message (e.g., "HELLO", "GAMING ON").
Select a speed for the scrolling effect and the colors for the text and background.
Save and activate the message board effect.
5. Wake-Up Light Schedule (Timer/Schedule Feature)
Program your Syro-Bricks to gradually brighten in the morning, mimicking a natural sunrise for a more pleasant wake-up experience.
Instructions:
In the app, find the Timer or Schedule settings.
Set a specific time for the lights to turn on (e.g., 6:30 AM).
Look for an option to set the lights to "Fade In" or "Gradual Brightening".
Choose a warm, soft color (like a dim orange or yellow) to start the process, transitioning to a brighter warm light.
Set the duration over which the brightness increases (e.g., gradually brighten over 30 minutes).
Save the schedule. The lights will automatically activate the routine at the specified time.
Custom Scene/DIY Mode
To map colors to specific bricks in the LEDSMART app's Custom Scene/DIY mode, follow these steps:
Open the App & Connect: Launch the LEDSMART app and ensure it is connected to your LinkedSparx Syro-Bricks device via Bluetooth.
Navigate to Custom Mode: Go to the section of the app designated for creating custom scenes or DIY effects (the exact name may vary, but it is typically labeled "Custom Scene" or "DIY").
Enter the Editor: Find and select an option to create a new custom scene. This will typically open an editor interface.
Visualize the Layout: The editor should display a representation of your physical brick layout or a grid where you can interact with individual "bricks" on the screen.
Select a Color: Choose the color you want to apply from the app's color picker (often a 16 million color palette).
Tap to Color: Tap the corresponding bricks on the app's interface to apply the selected color to them. The physical bricks should change color in real-time.
Repeat: Select another color and tap different bricks until your entire design or pixel art is complete.
Save Your Scene: Once you are satisfied with your design, look for a "Save" or "Apply" button (often in the top corner) and give your custom scene a name (e.g., "Pixel Art Design 1").
Note: The scene will then be available for recall at any time, allowing you to easily switch between different custom static designs or set them to cycle through your custom colors if dynamic options are available in the editor.
